Dalai Lama Protest

The town hall square of Copenhagen (Rådhusplads) is where all good protests and celebrations (and one riot) often start/finish. Today I came across this anti Dalai Lama protest by Shungden  buddhists. They believe he was chosen falsely and his banning of a certain prayer has led to their persecution in many buddhist countries.  I spoke to one of their spokesmen and he said they were very embarrassed, as buddhists, to have to protest like this to bring attention to their cause. They want to try dialog but have been told to give up the prayer first. Oh dear.

The Dalai Lama is visiting Denmark and the PM won't see him. This is causing all sorts of debate but no one is mentioning the Panda we're getting this year. Which is odd.

I don't like religious doctrine at the best of times but when it leads to this sort of divide I start to panic. I was given a leaflet titled - "Dalai Lama - The Worst Dictator In This Modern World"
