Forth and Clyde Canal swans

These are "my" local swans. They have a hard time every spring and summer fighting off threats from foxes and gulls once the cygnets have arrived. Sadly their offspring never survive, it's very hard looking on at their battle. Today I was trying to feed them but the ice on the surface of the canal made it too difficult for them to paddle over to where I was on the tow path. The gulls got most of the bread - as usual! I'd walked along there this afternoon with Michael James in his pram, a nice walk this afternoon.
