Fertile valley

This valley is near where I live

The barn is about 100 years old.

For hundreds of years this valley has grown food from the Native Americans to the settlers and up to the late 1950's where my mom tells stories of picking beans in this valley.

Almost every year this valley flooded, sometimes multiple times and with the growing population it was becoming more and more expensive to rebuild

Mud Mountain dam, which was actually approved in 1936 but due to the war wasn't completed until 1948, was built on the White river that fed into the Puyallup river that was causing most of the damage.

Behind the barn you see a little water. Thats from just normal rainfall. To this day the areas they have set aside for wetlands floods with normal rain.

Going a little further you seen a modern warehouse.

This is why I framed this picture this way. The old, the new but Mother Nature will still have the final say
