Dragonfly

Always feel a little sad at this time of the year when we seem to get so many dragonflies in the house, they smack against the windows and by morning are dead on the window sill.
This one was only just moving, so popped a wee stick under him, which he clung onto but then no movement.

Used the macro a F32 to get as much depth of field as possible but still a little shallow. I know "real insect photographers" do focus stacking, but that just seemed a little hard!!!!  Anyway loved the colours of his eyes.

Off to Camera Club committee meeting tonight, after two years as President this is my first where I can just be a committee member!

Have been trying to get some images printed today to enter into NATEX (the National exhibition of the Photographic Society) which is held in conjunction with the annual conference in April. Entries need to be in by the end of February...trying to not leave it until the last minute which often happens.

Very quiet at the lake this afternoon as "summer" neighbours "Sightsinging" and Dr D have packed up and returned to Hamilton. Another grey blustery day but still had my afternoon swim. I really don't know where summer is hiding.
