Incense from the nunnery

We had an outing! - a walk down down to Kopan Nunnery, where, amongst less worldly pursuits, the Buddhist nuns make and sell incense sticks. They use local herbs and spices, but not the sickly perfumes you sometimes get in incense.

And I was delighted that this young nun gave me a beaming smile when I asked if I could photograph her. Often people in Nepal are happy, or at least willing, to be photographed, but don't seem to want to smile,
