Penguin Droppings

Wayfarer

This is the Wayfaring Tree (Vibernum lantana).

I went up on the South Downs today hoping for some butterflies. I saw a few but none stopped to be blipped.

Instead, I photographed a few of the wild flowers that conservationists are trying to encourage through careful management.

I chose this one because it was an iconic emblem of this part of the downs back in the 1960s and there are far fewer of them about now.

If it stays fine, I'll be back tomorrow to try again for butterflies.
