Glass House

Today the sun shone brightly once again although it was very cold until about 11:00, by about 13:00 the temperature had reached the dizzying heights of 8.5 degrees, by this time I was sitting enjoying the sunshine next to the main entrance door of Crathes Castle.

We had walked up from the car park at Milton at Crathes. The millpond next to the main entrance to the Crathes Estate was still largely frozen over. In the gardens in areas shaded from the sun the grass was still covered in frost and the ornamental ponds in the garden were still frozen.

We saw lots of snowdrops around the estate. The photograph is taken in the glass house inside the walled garden of the castle.

After a walk back down to the car park I was slightly disappointed to discover the trek to and from the castle had resulted in only 7,000 steps. A little less than yesterday when I walked into the city.
