I love my vacuum cleaner!!!

I've had a very full and rich day!

First of all it's a feast day.....which just means i got to have a lovely english muffin with peanut butter and honey....mmmmm....one of my favorite breakfasts.   on fasting days i go till lunch before i have something to eat so it's a lovely treat!   Then off to the wonderful pool for a swim and a soak in the hot tub.

Lunch at the Bean There was so social!   all sorts of folks coming out for lunch...it was a very bright and sunny day!   made friends with a new person who just happened to sit at my table cos the others were full!   She is a yoga teacher and we have some friends in common.  Always nice to meet new folks!

Back to the painting i began this morning....and after about an hour i was very disheartened...it just wasn't coming together!   so out with the vacuum again!   wow....took of most of the pastel and spent the next hour a bit redoing it...totally different look and i love it!   Having spent the past week or so doing snow images and very realistic images, it was such a treat to move into something abstract.  i'm realising that i have a strong habit of making marks that go from left to right and i want to explore what other marks i could make.   it's a funny thing mark making...i guess it's sort of like our signature and once we've found it we tend to use it only.   I'm on a quest to expand and explore different marks in pastel.   Can't help but feel so in love with the textures that emerge....go large to see a bit more of that!

Our dear friend Richard is over to do his laundry, have homemade pizza with us and we'll watch the final episode of The Book of Negros.   What an amazing story that is.  Couldn't get into the book for life of me, but the 6 part series has us very involved.

As i said, a rich and full day!
