Epic Retrieve

One of the clubs glider pilots lost sight of the airfield and ended up safely landing in a very large but muddy field with no vehicular access. After several hours of knocking on doors in the village and numerous phone calls, the pilot thought she had found the owner of the field. 4 hours later the cavalry turned up in convoy! 5 cars, 1 4x4 and a glider trailer but that still wasn't enough! Thankfully a farmer pointed us in the right direction to the land owner who very generously came to our aid with his tractor to tow the trailer to the glider and then back across 2 fields to a muddy track back to the road. The whole operation took about 7 hours!
