The Box Tree Restaurant - Ilkley

One of the oldest buildings in Ilkley it was originally a Yorkshire stone farmhouse dating from 1720.
The building opened as a tearoom in 1962, and went on to become one of the first four British restaurants to win two Michelin stars in 1977.
In 1979 the future celebrity chef Marco Pierre White began working at the Box Tree at the age of 17 and says that the Box Tree made him obsessed with food and he still considers the restaurant to be his spiritual home.
It's a long time since me & Mrs MD dined there :-)
