Out Of The Darkness, East Malling

A long hard week (with another very late night at work) meant I was exhausted today but it didn't stop me going on long walk with my brother (with a couple of stops for restorative beer consumption and something to eat!). On the walk home from our second pub it was settling into dusk and as we walked across the fields all you could hear was birdsong and the very low hum of traffic in the distance. About half way we walked through the research centre and quite a few of the greenhouses were glowing in the fast fading light - beautiful but also strangely unsettling.
Today's shot was taken a little further on where the trees started to pull in towards us the darker it got, at least that's what it felt like. My smaller more compact camera only has a small direct flash and results in a  kind of Weegee-like scene of crime image. It's as if something terrible has happened but you don't know quite what and only pitch black darkness surrounds you.
