Clackmannanshire Bridge is a road bridge over the Firth of Forth in Scotland which opened to traffic on Wednesday 19 November 2008. The bridge was officially opened by Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond on 28 November 2008. The bridge deck is 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) long, weighs 35,000 tonnes and sits on 25 piers which are each filled with 840 tonnes of concrete. The final cost of the project was £120 million and it was designed to accommodate about 20,000 vehicle movements per day. Just the job for MonoMonday. Many thanks to JoanneInOz for hosting the challenge!
