Sunday Drive

We drove the second leg of the best road in Scotland today, the coastal road from Clachtoll to Kylesku. (We drove the first leg - Achiltibuie to Lochinver - last year). Single track all the way and being a woose, Dave always does the driving while I oooh and ahh at every view or glimpse of wildlife.

Very lucky weather wise, with the sun beaming down on loch and mountain and everything in between. Every loch has a different hue.

We'd never been over here out of season before. It's very quiet, very peaceful and very beautiful. And the clear skies make the stars pop.

Everything's shut, before the tourist onslaught at Easter and beyond, but that gave us the excuse to nip down to Ullapool for lunch and stop for a wee bit at Inchnadamph (meadow of the Stags) at the foot of the bone caves to see some very handsome but wary stags close by, as well as some on the mountain skyline antler bashing, practicing their rutting moves well in advance.

Back home to Clachtoll to get cosy in the Pod before the storm hit, absolutely knackered after three full on, happy days.
