Great Crested Grebe

What a dramatic change in the weather today. I was back in winter layers as the temperatures had but I didn't mind as it was wall to wall sunshine today.

It seemed to have an effect on the bird life at Trentham Gardens too. I watched three kingfishers dart up and down a section of the river, and whistle madly at each other.

And I caught the first head shaking starts of a couple of Great Crested Grebes pairing off. No weed presenting or dancing but I might catch it one day. This was one of the pair and it had just surfaced after a dive.
