Keeping up traditions.

Today is Pancake Tuesday. It is a moveable feast which is always 47 days before Easter Sunday. Of course it is the day before the beginning of Lent in the Christian Churches. It's origin apparently arises from the need to eat up luxury foods such as eggs before the restricted diet begins.

There are many traditions such as Pancake races, the most famous being in Olney, Bucks. Similar traditions are spread over most of Europe and North America.

Although Knottman is more inclines towards Dawkinism he nevertheless favours keeping up these traditions especially when they involve the indulgence of Canadian Maple Syrup.
