Fancy

I don't know if it's a Hampshire thing but the chimneys round here are often quite fancy and ornate even on relativity small and modest buildings. The fashion seemed to die by the 1930s so our house has a very plain chimney stack, but got back just a few decades to the Edwardian period and they were clearly still all the rage.

This morning on my way to work I was looking at the architecture along one of the streets I walk down, it has a good mix of houses mostly late Victorian to very modern, all quite large and mostly detached with a few semis in the mix. On my way home, even though the light was failing I thought I'd try for a pictures, which is a bit hard with all the clutter, but I managed this shot of a chimney.
