Desert Squirrel

New Zealand robin

We walked up to Lake Sylvan this morning, another area that is being heavily trapped for stoats to protect yellowheads and other forest birds.  This time, we did hear yellowheads singing, but still didn't see any.  There were lots of tiny riflemen, but I only managed to photograph the cooperative robin, and then it was perched on a bridge, rather than a more photogenic branch.
