Cloisters

This is a photo of the Cloisters in the Courtyard of Iona Abbey. I last visited Iona in 1976 and travelled to the Island of Iona in a small rowing boat and there wasn't much happening on the Island apart from the Abbey, which was fee to visit. The Iona Community ran the boat et al until they went bankrupt............so in 2000 Historic Scotland took over, renovated and put up all of the prices! Cal. Mac. Now run a large ferry!

The weather was brilliant today again with shimmering, sparkly sea, the North beach was fab.
