View from our holiday cottage window

Another surprisingly good journey on Britain's motorway network. One or two hold ups through sheer volume of traffic but by and large, given it was a Friday and the end of the schools' half term, it went well.

No thanks to some drivers though. Saw many people on their phones and several dodgy lane changes where drivers inserted themselves into an impossible gap without so much as a by your leave and causing those behind  to brake sharply.

The holiday accommodation is rather good. We've stayed in quite a few of these sorts of places, for better or worse. This one is up there with the best. Superbly well appointed and on an elevated position between Windermere and Bowness overlooking the lake with the Langdales on the skyline.

Went shopping for supplies, then reheated a chilli we'd bought with us. It went well with a jacket potato and a glass of red wine. Feet up now while we decide where to go and what to do tomorrow.
