Like 30MPH sitting on top of a freezer

Lake Michigan is almost frozen over.  A harsh Arctic air mass is still settled over the Great Lakes, and while the strong winds have ended, the bitterly cold temperatures remain.
The weather toppled  temperature records. The morning low of -13 was one degree colder than the previous record set in 1963. But it didn't stop the ice boaters.
