Help Required!

So we bought this super modern micro chip only use cat flap to stop the constant stream of strange cats wandering around the house, and it works a treat apart from the fact that Dave is scared of the 'click' it makes when it reads his chip and so runs away and refuses to use it :-/ Any ideas anyone?
