Chaffinch

A day trip with the Jaguar Photographic Society to Lake Vyrnwy.  The weather was mixed, in fact Four Seasons in One Day by Crowded House comes to mind as the weather alternated between sun, wind, rain, sleet, hail... and repeat.

Our initial plan to photograph on the lake then move to the RSPB bird hide had to be ditched but we had some great fun photographing in the hide.  I concentrated on the pecking order perches and pre focussing on the branches to quickly then focus on the bird and shoot before they flew onto the feeders in front of us.  

Our walk later  to Rhiwargor Falls was rather painful on the way there with windblown hail straight into our faces but the walk was well worth it as the falls at the end of the trail are rather impressive.
