Cardiff reimagined

We have a Hungarian friend staying with us this weekend, so after meeting him from his coach this morning, we showed him around Cardiff and the Bay.

We wandered through some of the arcades and went to the Central Market for a Welsh cake hot and fresh off the griddle, made a foray into the castle, loitered around some lovespoons, and drank tea in Barker's.

We went for lunch in Cardiff Bay and had a walk around it afterwards, stopping off here at the Wales Millennium Centre whose foyer has been taken over this half term with a new miniature Cardiff.

It was a free event for children and one of those times where you wish big kids could join in as well or you could borrow someone's kid just to get a go at something. Home Sweet Home was a half term event where kids could choose a house, narrow boat or other building - the WMC itself or the Millennium Stadium or even the castle - and colour and decorate it how they wanted. This is the result and I thought it looked wonderful.
