A Peep Thru the Pinhole

Alex @ Liz's tree

Please excuse my lateness in uploading Friday's image (it's now Sunday afternoon), but it has been a difficult few days.  On Friday 20th Liz's daughter Alex, her husband and their baby twins, plus Liz's son Gordon and his family - and of course myself - gathered at Bodenham Arboretum to scatter Liz's ashes, per her wishes. The tree in the image was one that Liz fell in love with, such that we considered it "her" tree, so we chose that as the optimum place to scatter the ashes.

Just across a pathway from there is a bench with a view across the lake towards the visitor centre, which (the bench) was another of her special places.

The photo shows my stepdaughter, Alex, hugging her mother's tree, and inset is a photo of Liz very much alive, and doing the same, taken in June 2013.

Alex and her family live in Switzerland, and returned home just this (Sunday) morning. Gordon and his family, Vanessa & the children,  live in Gloucester. We all went for a pub lunch after the arboretum 'event' to recover our equilibrium, before the Gloucester group returned home.
