Meet Phyllis and Doreen

I had the pleasure of meeting these two lovely ladies in the Morris room at the V&A museum today. It was busy at lunchtime and there were two spare seats at their table so we asked if we could join them. Their conversation continued between them as we ate, but then out of the blue, Doreen ( on the right) spoke to us and told an amazing story. Today was the first time they had met since they left school in Cornwall aged 15, and that was 65 years ago!! Don't they look great? One now lives in Portsmouth the other in Margate but strangely their lives had run in parallel- both marrying late in their 30s, having one son each and becoming grandmothers 10 years ago. It was a privilege to share their stories and see their precious photos as they caught up on all those years. As they smiled for a photo on Phyllis's disposable camera I couldn't resist snapping them.
