Fast Interceptor

Mark H and I headed up to Bruntingthorpe to take part in a night shoot organised by the Lightning Preservation Group.

The English Electric Lightning was the mainstay of the RAF's fast interceptor aircraft during the 1960's and 1970's, finally being retired in the late 80's.

There is an interesting story associated to one of these planes, in fact the one on display at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. Have a listen to the story of Taffy Holden's accidental flight here!
