Stones

We went for a long hike, down into Killin (attempting some essential shopping for Janice, but with no luck, so she had to improvise!) and then down the old railway track beyond to Finlanrig castle. We had evidently approached the mound from an unexpected angle because when we came down the other side, having had a good poke round the ruins, we found a sign warning that they were dangerous!

Then we headed back via a slightly different route, so that we passed the standing stones. Lovely.

In the evening we enjoyed a belated Burns supper, with all the trimmings. Chamfer's Immortal Memory, in original verse in the metre of Tam O'Shanter was particularly impressive!
