HOT WATER WITH A SPLOSH OF OLIVE OIL

I'm preparing a recipe inherited from the lovely Meles!

Pasta with pine nuts, broccoli, sardines & fennel.

Must admit I changed it quite radically - halved the pasta & the broccoli & doubled the pine nuts, raisins, garlic & lemon zest & juice + I added three liberal teaspoons of capers & a small tin of anchovies.

It was pretty much a success - could have re-doubled the lemon zest & juice - but:

Although I halved the bulk ingredients - the result could have fed about 10 people - recipe said, "Serves 6"! Who on earth were they catering for? Tongans? Giant Texans?

Stomach boggles!
