Common Redshank

What a beautiful bird! I walked right up to him and he stayed where he was in on his little island in the middle of a flowing stream, in my now most prodigious Wadi! Because of our mini heat wave the birds have 'literally flocked' to this wet area, obviously for a drink and some solace from the heat. Sitting in my camp chair, in the shade of a palm tree I have been spoilt with so many lovely birds. I'm so enjoying myself but my family think I've gone a little obsessed! Saw my first bird in breeding plumage...
