Colourful Wasp

This wasp was feeding on nectar from the carrot flowers. I have not been able to identify it. The abdomen is mostly bright orange like the legs, with a shiny black tip. I thought it might be the black-tipped orange Ichneumon wasp, but that also has an orange thorax and short wings. This one is very distinctive with its glossy black thorax with the lemon-yellow parts. It was about 15 mm long, maybe a bit more.

At the weekend my son shifted my sawhorse to a position close to the wood heap and shed. Now I have just five steps to move the wood to the saw instead of 72. What a difference this has made. I cut three times more logs than I usually do. At last I’m on the way to filling the sheds with ready to use wood.
