C2C Day Zero - Threlkeld

Day Zero consisted of a drive in the pouring rain via Wooler to Newcastle, where I and the others were met by the Saddle Skeddadle team and van, then transferred with our bikes to Threlkeld near Keswick where we would spend the night.

Much sussing out of the others to figure how badly I would fare against the elite...

The Horse and Farrier Inn has been here since 1688 and the rooms are small but the food is plentiful and tasty.

It's still raining, but I have brought gear for all eventualities including snow, not entirely unlikely on the high Pennines.
