Point of Honor was built between 1806 and 1815.  It isn't the oldest building in our city but it is one of the oldest.  It is now a museum and hosts several fairs and festivals in the summer.

This picture shows a little of the front lawn as well as an out-building on the right.  The federal-style mansion overlooks the James River and Lynchburg's downtown.  The bike trail has a spur that crosses the creek and adjoins the Point of Honor property.
