Hypothermia

Went for a walk this morning and within two minutes my lips were as blue as those in today's picture. Turned around and came home, pronto.

Which is why today's pic is from Belfast city centre, instead of the wilds of suburbia.

It'd be fair to say that Belfast has more than its fair share of graffiti. If people see a wall here, they feel compelled to paint on it - which has resulted in some, er, interesting expressions of political beliefs around the place. (If you're looking for an investment opportunity in Belfast, might I suggest flags and cans of spray paint as a sure-fire winner?)

There's also plenty of art-for-art's-sake graffiti as well, and some of it is really, really good. This piece is just round the corner from my office and I pass it a couple of times a week. I'd love to be able to paint that well. Whether you think graffiti is proper art or just vandalism, there's no denying that some of the artists are very talented. And to think they have to do it while keeping one eye out for the police...
