Wareham and its surrounding countryside

This scene was photographed from the Purbeck Ridge.  (It is best seen in LARGE.)

Wareham is about five miles away.  Its Lady St Mary church is in the dead centre of the photo.  For a closer view of the church, click here.

Behind Wareham stretches the extensive Wareham Forest.

In the foreground are some of the houses in Furzebrook; the large sheds at bottom right are used for the storage of locally mined ball clay by Imerys (previous owner English China Clays).
