Turl Street Dash

I must say that this evening was such a strange concoction of events. Jesus College Cambridge Football Team (though in hindsight we aren't even sure they played football) requested to crew date us but they wanted to eat in our second hall so it was a more tame affair than most crew dates. It also turns out they were from the MCR, Middle Common Room, and so their ages ranged from 22 to 27... However dinner was really nice and they all seemed very interesting. After dinner, we had an event called Mr and Mrs Jesus which was kind of bizarre and I'm not really sure it will be in my top priorities next year to go to. Then it was on to Turl Street Dash which we were kind of confused about. Turns out there is some sort of 'tradition' (unconfirmed, it just seems to pass on each year) where the Turl Street colleges (Jesus, Lincoln and Exeter) have some students dress in fancy dress, drink 10 (?) pints before getting on bikes and cycling a circuit past the Rad Cam and finishing on Turl Street. Really odd, and not very safe. It also transpires that both Lincoln and Exeter students are forbidden from taking part so it is just Jesus. There were however incidences of glass bottles being thrown and smashing a window in Exeter college and so it is expected that the dean will be contacting all members of the JCR at some point about this. I had already headed off to Wahoo for the evening though so had not seen this all happen!
