Beneath Biscay

Al fresco

The second warm cloudless day in a row. Well it is nearly June after all. So for the first time this year, when I popped out for lunch, I sat out on the terraza of my favourite cafe-restaurant over the road, the Picos de Europa. The owners and staff are all very friendly and it's the only cafe I know that, when serving cafe con leche, always bring two jugs of milk and offer a choice of warm or hot. Although I've been a regular for about a year, the waiter still addresses me as 'caballero' ('sir' or literally 'cavalier') which is debateable, but worth a tip every time.
