Day at a Time

Weathervane

There are very few real Tudor buildings in Scotland. Not that there aren't ancient structures (go to Orkney for plenty of these) but you just don't see the black and white Tudor buildings of the kind that are preserved in parts of England.

This building is 'Victorian Tudor', designed by the architect T. Duncan Rhind. It sits in Randolph Place, right in the middle of Edinburgh's Georgian splendour. I like it though, and I particularly like that after a varied career it now houses a great French restaurant and a lovely atmospheric wine bar. What I'd never noticed till today was its weathervane. Blip makes you see new things!

Happy weekend one and all
