Rottnest Island

We took an early express ferry to Rottnest Island this morning.

We hired bikes and rode around the island which is 11km long by 4.5 km wide, stopping at many of the beautiful little coves where the sand is white and the sea is astonishingly aqua.

The Quokka is a small Marsupial that is native to the Island. We wondered if we would see any and we were delighted that we did - a lot of them.

The high speed ferry on the return journey to Fremantle was pretty exciting too; the sea was very choppy and coupled with high wind and speed of the boat, it made for a very exciting crossing that certainly entertained us and our fellow passengers.

What a fabulous day it's been.
