Butterfly Ring

I was wandering around the back yard this morning and spotted a magnificent, enormous butterfly over the fence. I went in and got the camera but could only get a mediocre shot before it flew away.

There were lots of bees and a few other butterflies hanging around but I was about to give up when this one appeared. I kept very still and it just flew over and settled on my hand.

It wasn't as big as "the one that got away" and, unlike it, the outside of its wings were quite drab. However I managed several shots (was even able to alter the camera setting without disturbing it) and then got this one when it briefly opened its wings.
