New or Old?

Going to do the ironing and having got my super lightweight steam iron out of the cupboard I saw this one in the conservatory.  Which should I use mine is very light and efficient and the flat iron is very heavy and I guess not efficient.  I am glad I did not have to iron using one of these.  But our grandmothers probably thought they were the latest labour saving device!!
It is good to be in the 21st century!!
