First Production Herald.

This afternoon we went to Woodley and on the way back stopped to look at the Aviation Museum. Unfortunately it was closed but we could still see this plane. It is a First Production Herald and was flown by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1962 during his tour of ten South American countries. It has the BEA logo on it, this stood for British European Airways which existed between 1946 until 1974. It then merged with BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) to form British Airways.
