Urban Food Fest....

It was my first day out since being ill. After doing some jobs in Chorlton I took the tram into the city centre to do some more jobs (we'd run out of that nice Jura whisky you can only get at The Whisky Store on St. Ann's Square) and have a look around.

I'd heard of a street food event at the end of Deansgate on a little car park in the shadow of the Hilton Tower. It's run by an organisation called Urban Food Fest who do events in Shoreditch near Silicon Roundabout in London. They seem to be the latest London foodie institution that wants a piece of the Manchester food scene action.

They were just finishing setting it up. It opens at 5 and closes at midnight. It was a cold, grey, February afternoon and then it started raining. I headed off to M&S and returned later. Inspite of the weather it was already busy. If it does this on a cold, February night, it will be epic in summer.

I liked the rainbow cake on one stall....
