Catherine Lacey: BoyStory

In our night garden

How beautiful the scent of the jasmine, the harbinger of spring, pulling us outside this evening to our garden.

They've been playing at the dinosaur museum, one of their very favourites. I've been playing in Photoshop, another word for working on a large stream of overdue client prints, about 50 edits. Reuben's piano skills are coming on lovely as he steps into his second level of books. And we've started each morning doing multiplication, as crazy a thought as that is given my first interest in maths has only now dawned on me through teaching it to Reuben.

Glass of wine in my hand, chili chocolate on the side and House of Cards on Netflix, but first, just another breathe in of outside...
