Mopeds and tangled wires

Shot from the coach at 8.15am as we travelled out of Saigon this morning, this is an inadequate attempt to show two of the features of this huge city: the crazy bundles of telegraph wires that are festooned round poles and walls or simply strung like knitting along the streets, and the mopeds, motor bikes and scooters that weave alarmingly through and around other road users. Today was Sunday, and it was early - yesterday was much, much busier.

Today we were at the Cu Chi tunnels, but I was so hot and dusty that even getting my phone out seemed impossible. I shall try to do better on a wall round the city tomorrow. And it's Ho Chi Minh City these days - keep up, Blethers!
