Dusk view from the Longman campus of Inverness College, with an ominous black ball of cloud approaching.

First attempt at a stitched panorama of several shots. This was made with about five overlapping shots, taken hand held. A tripod would've been better... though not whilst leaning out a high level window. There was next to no work involved with the (free) Microsoft program I used - Image Composite Editor. Made it a piece of cake, unlike attempts in the distant past of manually joining just a couple of photos. It can load up RAW format files too, and that was what I used. No other editing done to this. Though it perhaps looks a fair bit darker here... against that infamous white background .

If you do plan to have a go at this kind of thing, best to either lock your exposure settings, or use manual (my preferred option). Base the initial exposure on getting things correct for what will be the brightest part of the scene. And it would also be advisable to use a fixed white balance value, rather than Auto. Have a good overlap area, rather than otherwise - edges and corners of images are often not that great, as regards various lens issues. Of course if your camera has a built in panorama mode, then try that... after reading the manual.

A downpour ensued...
