Coldstones Cut

This morning we went to visit this outdoor 'sculpture' overlooking the huge working Coldstones Quarry in Nidderdale.
It is a massive construction in block stonework around which the visitor can freely roam. There are spectacular views across Nidderdale, as well as of the Quarry itself.
Being the highest working Quarry in England, it was absolutely freezing up there, and we were rewarded with a horizontal hail storm just after taking this photograph.

A second visit is on the cards in better weather.....
