Dave and the massive steak

We were supposed to be off to visit family this weekend in Leeds,  but sadly our sister in law has broken her foot (we're sending lots of  love and lots of healing thoughts to her right now ) so we've been unable to catch up with them... 

We had a little plan that we were heading down to them, and then stopping off in Durham on the way back as it was a half way point... so seeing that our bags were already packed when we got the news, we decided to have a random tour of the North East instead... 

We found a little pub in Slaley near Hexham which is community owned, and close enough to Hadrian's wall that Dave can indulge in some Roman archaeology, so we headed down there... The pub was great really friendly and certainly didn't skimp on the food :-) The Roman rubble was OK as well although Dave enjoyed it more than I did...
