Birthday boy and his boy

Jim's birthday today, but it was a quiet one for a number of reasons. But we had birthday breakfast of sausage sandwiches and he was pleased with his present, travel connect 4 (to off set Snakes and Ladders next time we go away).

One of Carys's oldest friends was eight today and had a swimming party. I drop Carys off at 11am, straight from church, and didn't pick her up until 3.30pm!

As I knew it was going to be a long party I had asked Will what he would like to do while C was out. He wanted to go swimming! So we went to our local pool (the girls were at Letchworth), which was busy. I lasted an hour before we got out. Will swam well, I need to take him more often, but I really don't like going. From there we met Daddy in town to have a birthday coffee and then headed home.

We had curry for tea. Both kids ate korma, rice and naan. C tried balti but wasn't impressed, W refused to try it after C's refusal to eat more. Neither liked onion barjee, but at least we know we can take them out to an Indian restaurant and they won't starve. We decided to leave them trying Jim's curry for another time. If balti was too spicy goodness knows what they would have thought of madras!
