SOMETHING DIFFERENT:

For the very first time, I had two charming Russian girls in the garden. One spoke quite good English, (the other, very limited) & they wanted to talk & ask questions about gardens & plants. I showed them my blue & white plate that I bought in Moscow, (which hangs in the garden) & then, because it was lunch time, I made them tomato sandwiches. They were so appreciative, Anna sat down at the piano & played - well what else - but Tchaikovsky ! It was a wonderful interlude & surely beats housework. Such an interesting day.

Back in the garden, Anna on the left & Olga.
