Hue Imperial City

Hue was the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty from 1802-1945 when the last emperor stood down. They built a big citadel to house their imperial city. Sadly not a lot of the city is left as it was badly damaged during the war in 1968. What is left though is delightfully eye catching and ornate. The weeds sprouting out of cracks give it a suitably dishevelled air. Some buildings have been restored, but my favourite bits were the crumbly parts.
